The CM-500W3A is an ergonomic, lightweight handheld Bluetooth, Class I Barcode Scanner, designed for all-day everyday use.  With a USB cable attached, it operates as a plug and play barcode scanner.  Without the USB cable it functions as a standalone barcode recorder. As a Bluetooth device, it can be programmed as a Master or Slave device to allow communication between PC, mobile phone, PDA or Apple iPhone or iPad.  Once the Bluetooth connection has been established with a PC, an iPad, or an iPhone, the barcode data can easily be entered into word processing software, spreadsheets, emails, or text messages. Its built-in rechargeable Li-polymer battery pack (3.7V, 420mAH) is recharged via any USB port. The CM-500W3A's performance is remarkable – even scanning fine pitch barcodes through translucent static bags!

The CM-500W3A uses a linear CCD image sensor with a built-in 630nm red LED illumination source. CM-500W3A’s internal 32-bit microprocessor reads linear barcodes at 100 scan/sec at a distance of 2” – 10”. 

The CM-500W3A offers three useful functionalities - Bluetooth, Memory, and wired: four different Bluetooth Modes are available (Master, Slave, USB HID, iOS) to communicate between PC, mobile phone and PDA; in Memory Mode, it can store up to 500 barcode readings with time stamps for later download; in Wired Mode, with the supplied USB cable (supplied) connected, it can be used as a tethered scanner, transferring data to and from internal flash memory, as well as charging the device. 

The CM-500W3A’s internal non-volatile memory can store up to 500 scans. it is configurable for time stamp and output data format, and can transmit data to a remote PC either in “keyboard wedge” mode as if typing on a keyboard, or in memory mode, whereby up to 500 barcode scans are stored for batch entry.    Supported barcodes include Code 39, INT 25, Industrial 2 of 5, Matrix 2 of 5, Codabar (NW7), Code 93, Code 128,EAN 128, JAN/EAN/ UPC and fully RSS code (GS1 Databar ). 

The CM-500WA is compact (5" x 1.5" x 0.7") and lightweight (2 oz) and is supplied as a combination communication link pair with compatible BlueTooth USB dongle.
