Aim-TTi’s TGR6000 is an economical RF signal generator that can produce high quality signal from 10MHz to 6GHz. Modulation capabilities have been excluded from the design to keep costs down, so it is intended for  CW (carrier wave) situations.

The TGR6000 provides signals with low phase noise and low residual FM and spurious artifacts. With a built-in time-base of 1ppm stability, it can be locked to an external frequency as a reference for even higher precision.  Amplitude as well frequency sweeps can be performed over the complete range of the TGR6000’s specified output.  It can be set to perform three sweep types: step, continuous lin/log, and list.  With List Sweep, up to 1000 points can be pre-defined, with the frequency, level and dwell time specified for each.

A useful output available on the rear panel “SYNC” marks when a stable output has been achieved.  It can be user-selected as active high or low. Additionally, another useful feature is that the output amplitude can follow a preset TRIM function to compensate for a non-uniform external equipment frequency response. The TRIM function is a user –set list of as many as 100 amplitude adjustment /frequency pairs. The TGR6000 also features non-volatile storage locations for 12 instrument setups and up to 16 sweep lists, and it can be remotely controlled via LAN, USB, RS232 or GPIB.
