    GW Instek’s LCR-6200 from Saelig is an LCR meter measuring inductance, capacitance, and resistance with a test frequency range extending from 10Hz to 200kHz (at ~0.05% accuracy). This 2U (1/2 rack) instrument is housed in a sturdy case with an adjustable stand for ease of operation. It is ideal for such application areas such as production test, IQC, R&D, or for installing at various test stages during passive component manufacturing.

    The LCR-6200 features a bright 3.5” color LCD with multiple display parameters, showing settings and measurement results, and other helpful data.  The large display not only shows measurement results, but also provides PASS/FAIL notice for rapid and convenient testing. The resistance display range is from 0.00001ohm to 99.9999megohms, inductance from 0.00001uH to 9999.99H, and capacitance from 0.00001pF to 9999.99mF.

    The LCR-6000 series has two zeroing methodologies: full frequency range & spot. Without turning the power off or changing the test fixture, users can vary the operating frequency as desired within the instrument’s frequency range to conduct tests. This is a great time-saver when there’s no need to repeat a zeroing operation.  Input frequency can be set to a precise value so you can conduct the most precise testing on components.

    The LCR-6200 also features other ancillary measurements to meet the measurement requirements of different materials. For instance, it provides the automatic level control (ALC) function to satisfy the test voltage requirement of MLCC. For inductive component measurements, the series provides an adjustable test current capability. An optional external bias current adapter (±2.5A) is available also. For DC bias for capacitive components testing, the LCR-6200 allows users to conduct verification measurement on materials with its internal ±2.5V adjustable voltage or via an optional external bias voltage adapter (±45V). Ten listed test functionalities allow users to set test parameters (either by frequency, or voltage, or current) for each step based on users’ requirements in order to observe device behavior trends.

    The LCR-6200 has 10 memory locations to facilitate in selecting test criteria and saving time for repeated test settings. A 10,000 measurement storage capability means that lots of measurement results can be stored instantaneously. A USB host port allows easy access to recorded results without connection directly to a PC. It also allows a USB memory device to retrieve or save screen data to assist users in compiling test setting guidelines.

    The LCR-6000 series can also be externally controlled via an RS-232 (SCPI) interface (or for USB use our optional USB-RS-232 cable) and provides, in addition to its measurement capabilities, a bin sorting function (9BIN, AUX: 1BIN) to facilitate connection with automatic sorting machines. For remote control and measurement result retrieval, the LCR-6000 series provides RS-232C (or use our optional USB-RS-232 cable for USB connection) to assist setting, control, or measurement retrieval via PC commands. Additionally, the free PC software provided gives users an instant tool to retrieve measurement results when developing your own programs.

    The compact-sized LCR-6000 series can effectively use limited space constraints. Multiple measurement functions and display methods make the series an excellent, cost-effective choice for the requirements of R&D, component assessment for engineering departments, category sorting requirements for component production, and IQC for verification of component specifications.
