Installs easily - without loading software

This device installs automatically upon connection with a PC's USB port.There is no separate software CD included - no additional software is required.The scanner is powered by the USB port on the computer, and under Windows Device Manager the unit is installed as both a 'USB Human Interface Device' and an 'HID Keyboard Device.'

Acts as a Keyboard Wedge Interface

This hand-held device acts exactly as a keyboard does, except it's faster and more accurate than typing.

Scanning a barcode produces alphanumeric data in any field open on the PC's desktop.Whether using Word, Excel, Notepad, HyperTerminal, or applications like QuickBooks, entering data into a field with the scanner is quick and automatic.An automatic carriage return feature is included which facilitates operation (but can be turned off if desired).

Default state -Ready to Go

The TS2100-USB-B comes ready to scan seven different types of barcodes.Included with the scanner is a fifty-page manual which details setup and programming procedures, including the recognition of other types of barcodes, and various scanning and data transmission configuration options (including WAND and Magnetic parameters).
