New Owon Scopes
|
 We've just introduced two new benchtop
scopes from Owon
-the PDS8102T
(100 MHz) and PDS8202T
(200 MHz). These low-cost 2-channel scopes sample at 1 Gsa/s and
2 GSa/s respectively, and are packed with useful features normally only
seen on higher-end DSOs including video trigger, auto-measurements,
large 8" full color LCD display, XY Mode, auto-set, averaging,
math functions, USB output, waveform storage, 3-year warranty,
etc. Even FFT functionality is included to view
spectrum information, as well as Autoscaling and Trigger Holdoff.
The record length is a huge 2M data points, which allows great depth
for investigating fast, intermittent pulses. More...

12-bit Precision PC Oscilloscopes With
Built-in AWG
|
|
 Pico's PS4227
is a new, economical 2-channel 100MHz USB scope with a real-time sampling
rate of 250 MSa/s. This precision USB oscilloscope is ideal for general
purpose, scientific and field-service use. With 12-bit resolution -
adjustable up to 16 bits in enhanced resolution mode for repetitive signals
- it also makes an excellent A/D choice for noise, vibration and
mechanical analysis. Powered from a PC's USB port, PS4227 includes an integrated spectrum analyzer, function
generator and arbitrary waveform generator - a complete test and
measurement laboratory that is small enough to take anywhere. A third input is a dedicated external
trigger, while a fourth BNC connector is provided for the output of the
signal generator. This signal
source allows you to create an arbitrary test signal, draw your own
waveform using the graphical editor, or use one of the six preset

New
50MHz Function Generator Sets New Price/Performance Point
|
 The TTi TG5011 is
a combined Function/Arbitrary/Pulse Generator covering the extremely wide
frequency range of 1µHz to 50MHz.
Providing high-purity sine waves with low harmonic distortion and
very low phase noise over the full frequency range, TG5011 incorporates a pulse generator mode which provides
wide range pulse width and delay independent of period. Pulse period can
be set between 2000 seconds and 80ns (0.5mHz to 12.5MHz) and the duty
cycle can be as low as one in two billion. Rise and fall times are also
independently variable over a wide range. Waveform frequency can be
accurately set at up to 14 digits and is based on a TCXO time-base
oscillator with a stability of 1ppm. Even very low frequencies can be set
(e.g. 1mHz with a resolution of 0.1%) with high stability (1ppm). More...

Your Scope's Capabilities
|
|
 Low-speed serial bus interfaces such
as I2C and SPI are widely used today in electronic designs for
chip-to-chip communication. In many designs these serial buses provide
key points for test or analysis. However, since these protocols transfer
bits serially, using a traditional oscilloscope has limitations.
Traditional scope triggers are not sufficient for specifying I2C or SPI
address information.
But now you can extend your scope capability very
economically with our LAD-16128U Logic Analyzer, which offers both
IC and SPI decoding and also triggering. Use this rising-edge trigger
signal as the trigger input in your scope, and you have added great
additional functionality to any economical scope. This eases debug and

Printer Kit from the Fab @ Home Project
|
 The Fab @ Home Project is an open-source worldwide
collaboration for developing fabrication technology. Aimed at
bringing 3D fabrication to the individual user (somewhat like a personal
copier) personal fabrication devices allow custom objects to be
manufactured on-demand. Just as the current digital copier allowed
anyone to reproduce paper documents, the next digital revolution will
allow anyone to make, sell, or buy fully functional objects.
Started at Cornell University in 2006, within one year the www.FabAtHome.org website received
17,000,000 hits and the project received a Popular Mechanics
"Breakthrough Award". Over 20,000 people a day now look
at the Fab @ Home website, and the Fab @ Home project is supported by a
global, open-source community of professionals and hobbyists, all excited
about contributing to tomorrow's innovation - today! The design is
affordable (~$2,400) and easy to build and modify due to the use of
a pre-built motor control system, for which Saelig is the exclusive
distributor. At the Fab @ Home website are plans that allow anyone to
build their own "fabber" along with a description of the
project's origins and worldwide examples of finished products.

PS6403 4-ch 8-bit 350MHz 1GS Oscilloscope
|
|
 We now have stock of this high-performance
4-channel 350 MHz scope from Pico Technology, which offers an enormous 1
Gsample memory buffer. This high-end scope can display single-shot
pulses with 200 ps time resolution. ETS mode boosts the maximum sampling
rate even further, allowing a more detailed display of repetitive pulses.
The PS6403
gives you the deepest buffer memory available as standard on any
oscilloscope. Other scopes have high maximum sampling rates, but without
deep memory they cannot sustain these rates on long timebases. The
PS6403's huge 1-gigasample buffer allows you to capture at 5 GS/s down to
20 ms/ div - that's a total duration of 200 ms. Managing all this data
calls for some powerful tools, so the free easy-use display software
provided gives you a maximum zoom factor of 100 million in a choice of
two zoom methods: a conventional set of zoom controls, plus an overview
window that shows you the whole waveform while you zoom and reposition
the display by simply dragging with the mouse. More ...
