The see-through soft material window and USB 2.0 connector provide fast and secure device manipulation and evidence collection in the field.  On-site mobile device data extraction is now a reality with the SFP1215W, which is more versatile, portable, and affordable than lab-based metal enclosures. More...

New Software for Low Cost Scope Adapter

DS1074BA new version of the CircuitGear CGR-101 software has been released which improves automated RMS measurements, adds PNG screen capture, provides a color chooser and greatly enhances the functionality of the network analyzer. And, now you can run several Syscomp instruments simultaneously on the same computer. Each one gets its own user space and com port allowing Syscomp software -- or custom software -- to talk to each instrument.

Teaching analog electronics? Need a lab curriculum? Here's some material that might be useful. See this link for analog electronics lab material, developed for third year engineering students at a Canadian university. The lab is very effective in engaging student interest and enthusiasm for the material. Students using just a Syscomp CircuitGear oscilloscope-generator and an inexpensive wall-mount DC power supply can do most of the work on their own taking the pressure off university labs and improving the hands-on skill-level of students operating electronic equipment.

They also have the capability to produce the following Pentaband/LTE antennas: LTE/Pentaband Blade antenna, LTE/Pentaband low profile strip antenna, LTE/Pentaband WCO antenna.  Please contact us if you have a firm requirement for these.

New Low-cost Wireless Modules

eRA Modules

easyRadio Advanced modules (eRA) are the latest generation of market-leading low-power wireless modules from LPRS. eRA modules continue to offer the same simple-to-use, out-of-the-box wireless serial communication as previous versions, but with a number of new, innovative features while remaining backwards-compatible with earlier easy-Radio versions. New key features of eRA modules include the ability for users to change the radio bandwidth from 150kHz down to a remarkable 12.5kHz, providing narrow-band performance at a wide-band budget. Internal temperature compensation insures less than 1.5kHz frequency drift from ambient 20° C over a range of -40° C to +85° C. This new feature may also be output as a temperature measurement for the end-user equipment, accurate to within 1° C.    More ...

Supplier Focus - Klaric GmbH is on the trail of automotive power guzzlers

KLARI-MOD

A frequent cause of car-breakdowns is a flat or defective battery. One reason for this is the ever increasing number of electrical loads in vehicles.  Automotive manufacturers are constantly striving to meet challenges of increasingly complex electrical systems and minimizing battery problems. A key objective is to accurately measure electricity consumption in vehicles, including the demands of climate change requirements.  These measurements need to be accurate over an extremely wide range - from mA to hundreds of amps.  Where can car manufacturers find such current measuring equipment? Our German supplier Klaric, in conjunction with the big German car manufacturers, has created 16-bit resolution KLARI-MOD and KLARICORD measurement modules to log electrical system performance in the design phase to reduce power consumption, as well as in manufacturing test for quality control purposes.  These versatile little boxes are also useful for wide-ranging current measurement needs other than automotive-based applications.  More ...

Cleverscope Software - New Release of v4.664

There is a new release of Cleverscope's popular software - v4.664. New firmware is also available for both the original and current models that gives an increased transfer rate and improved reliability of connection and is required for some of the new features - updating is strongly recommended. Download the new software here.  Some of the new features include:

  • Signal Information can be set to pulse rather than waveform - this also affects the parameters that will be logged.
  • New math functions:
    • Sum - returns a running sum of samples. Useful for averaging, integration and noise density accumulation
    • Difference - returns running difference of samples
    • Count - Running count of edges in the sample set. Uses hysteresis for noise reduction. Useful for measuring number of occurrences in a period.
  • There also are some neat new things you can do with cursors - Tracking Dot, Horizontal, Vertical or Fixed Horizontal
  • And now you can replay frames at the click of a button. Very clever!

Check out Cleverscope's website for some new videos and tutorials with associated sample download files to replicate the results.

As you may know, ByteParadigm's SPI Storm can be used to create almost any serial protocol. Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC) uses Byte Paradigm's SPI Storm serial protocol adapter to test its latest fingerprint area sensor. They are used in many applications such as computers and peripherals, physical access control, crew attendance control, security applications and medical equipment / data storage. The FPC1011F "area" sensor from FPC is an SPI slave device which uses a standard SPI protocol to transmit readout fingerprint image through a standard 4-pin SPI interface. FPC has developed its own test software based on ByteParadigm's free DLL provided with SPI Storm Studio software. This software lets the SPI Storm USB device send the right commands to the sensor; it also reads back captured fingerprint images.
