 I
hope you were able to snatch a summer break from your normal everyday
tasks. I traveled to Europe to get a little historical education,
discovering that the ancient Greeks and Romans knew all about fast food,
street shopping, big theatrical spectacles, and competitive sports games.
This was a cruise "In the Footsteps of St. Paul" and it was
amazing to imagine the sights the First Century dwellers might have seen,
and the shipwreck off Malta so vividly described in Acts. Despite

Low-cost, Versatile 30MHz Oscilloscope
|
|
SDS5032E
is a new, low-cost two-channel oscilloscope packed with useful features
normally only seen on higher-end DSOs, including video out, external
and video-capable triggering, auto-measurements, auto-scaling, large
8" high resolution full color LCD display, XY mode, auto-set,
averaging, math functions, USB output, waveform storage, pass/fail
output, and a 3-year warranty. FFT functionality is
included for frequency spectrum display, in addition to a built-in
6-digit frequency meter, which can measure frequencies from 2Hz to
30MHz. The Autoscale feature can automatically adjust the vertical
gain, or the horizontal time base, or both together. This is useful for
circuit probing - as the probe is moved from point to point on a
circuit board, the display auto-adjusts for the best trace
presentation. It functions like AutoSet, but instead of being a
one-time function, it's active until turned off, allowing
"hands-free" well-displayed measurements. The FFT function
shows an instant frequency spectrum of the signal under test, while the
Math function shows the results of the addition, multiplication,
division and subtraction operations between Channel 1 and Channel 2,
and the FFT operation of Channel 1 or Channel 2. More ...

The
WizFi630 is a high-performance embedded Wi-Fi gateway
module that transforms RS-232 and TCP/IP protocol into IEEE802.11 b/g/n
wireless LAN protocol. The WizFi630
enables a device with an RS-232 serial interface to connect to LAN or
WLAN for remote control, measurement, and administration. The WizFi630 can

WiFi Temperature & Humidity Data Logging Sensor

 The EL-WiFi-TH is a
WiFi-connected temperature and humidity sensor for monitoring the
environment in which it is situated. Data is transmitted wirelessly via a
802.11b-compliant network to a PC and can be viewed using the free
graphical software package supplied. The EL-WiFi-TH features a built-in LCD
screen which can display Max & Min readings, Low Battery indication,
and WiFi connection strength. The EL-WiFi-TH
can be placed anywhere within range of a chosen network. If the sensor
should temporarily lose connectivity with the network, it will log
readings until it is able to communicate again with the PC application
(max 60 days at 10 second sample interval). Additionally, the range of

TL-POE200 PoE Injector/Splitter Pair
|
|
 The TL-POE200 is
designed to deliver power and data over a single Ethernet cable to an
Ethernet enabled device up to 100m away. The PoE kit uses two devices:
one, the ´injector´ injects power and data into a single Ethernet cable
while the other, the ´splitter´ placed at the receiving end splits the
power and data back into two cables to be used by the connected Ethernet
device. This convenience allows users to place Ethernet enabled devices
such as access points, IP cameras, or VoIP phones anywhere that they are
best suited, regardless of whether a power socket is available, to

New Application for Tabor Signal Generators
|
|
Generating LTE envelope tracking signals requires having 3
tightly synchronized channels, two for I and Q that serve as an input to
a vector signal generator and the third to input the IF envelope directly
to the unit under test. This is an ideal application for Tabor's
affordable 4-channel RF signal generators.

Oscillators For Low Cost EMI Reduction
|
|
 The 3EQHM572N is a
new series of low EMI oscillators that are drop-in replacements for
standard clock oscillators, providing a low-cost solution for expensive
EMI problems. It approaches the problem at the source - the system clock
oscillator. The 3EQHM572N
series oscillators are available from 8 to 128MHz and use spread spectrum
(dithered) techniques to reduce EMI emissions from the oscillator by 8 to
15dB.
In most electronic
systems, the principal cause of EMI is the system clock, so making
reductions at the source rather than patch-up fixes (e.g. ferrite beads,
ground planes, metal shielding or costly additions) makes a lot of sense.
Spread spectrum technology moves the center-point energy over a wider
bandwidth and, since the low frequency spread technique is in the kHz
region, the process is transparent to the oscillator's primary operating

Smart Sensors - All Torque, All the Time
|
|
 TorqSense
Digital RWT410/420 Series transducers with integral
electronics are available in three different body sizes for torque ranges
up to 13,000Nm. Sensor Technology's RWT410/420 torque sensors, feature
significant performance gains in resolution, frequency response, reduced
sensor current consumption and faster digital data throughput. Transducer
overload capability has also been increased to 300%. The series offers a
cost effective, non-contact digital rotary torque measurement solution, using
TorqSense Surface Acoustic Wave technology, suitable for torque
monitoring, testing or controlling drive mechanisms. RWT410/420 torque sensors
offer high speed capability and non-contact/brushless measurement with no
electronics fixed to the shaft. Power and signal are conveniently
transmitted to the sensor via a simple RF coupling. Signal
bandwidth is up to 10kHz at high (0.25%) accuracy and resolution (0.02%).
Excellent noise immunity is provided by the integral digital electronics
and the RWT410/420
Series operates both statically and dynamically
(clockwise and counter-clockwise) for any specified full scale torque
(series range 1Nm through to 13,000Nm.) Built-in sensors monitor

High Performance 3-Ch 195W Power Supply
|

The
ODP3032 is a new high-performance, programmable
three-channel linear DC power supply. It features dual independent
outputs with separate controls and one fixed 5V/3A supply for up to 195W
total power with an output resolution of 1mV/1mA. The ODP3032 offers
outstanding line regulation and low ripple noise, with standard PC
interfaces to meet diverse test applications.
Four operating modes are provided for the two variable outputs:
independent (0~30V/0~3A), parallel (0~30V/0~6A), series (0~60V/0~3A), and
plus-minus (-30~30V/0~3A). All three channels are isolated, and a
3.9" high-resolution (480 x320 pixels) TFT LCD color display makes
using the advanced features easy to use. Up to 100 groups of
pre-stored timed voltage profiles can be used to generate arbitrary
