 eRA-Arduino-S900
is a 'shield' or stacked module that allows Arduino boards to
communicate wirelessly with other eRA module-equipped Arduino
boards or PC hosts, using proprietary easyRadio technology operating in
the 915MHz ISM band. Host Arduino boards can now easily send and
receive up to 180 Bytes of half-duplex data per packet, seamlessly
delivered to all other hosts within range. There is no need for any
complicated 'bit balancing' or elaborate coding schemes. eRA-Arduino-S900
provides considerably greater range (typically 200m) and consumes less
power than similar WiFi or Bluetooth devices operating in the
overcrowded 2.4GHz bands. Frequency, bandwidth, power output, and data
rate can optionally be configured to allow multiple devices to
communicate free from interference from each other and any other RF

 It's an unfortunate fact that not all
ICs on the market are genuine. The counterfeit IC industry worldwide is
worth billions of dollars, and many companies are suffering losses,
delays, and inconvenience because of the infiltration of counterfeit ICs
made from empty packages or cheap ICs re-marked to resemble actual
expensive ICs. We have found a product to eliminate this problem. ABI Sentry is a
simple to use Counterfeit IC Detector. This unique device quickly and
easily detects the authenticity of ICs and components. ABI Sentry uses
a combination of electronic parameter settings (voltage, frequency,
source resistance and waveform) to generate a PinPrint for
each pin of the IC being checked. It then compares the unique
electrical signature of known components and with suspect components.
ABI Sentry
can quickly detect missing or incorrect dies, lack of bond wires,
inaccurate pin outs and pin impedance variations. Simple pass or fail
results are returned after testing, offering a high level of confidence

Mixed Signal Scope Price Drop!

has authorized a significant drop in the sale prices of their 50MHz and
100MHz scopes which feature logic analysis. The 50MHz DS1052D has been
reduced from $899 down to $549, and the 100MHz DS1102D has been
reduced from $1199 down to $715. The DS1000D Series
Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes are extremely versatile test tools with
high-end features which include 16 Channel Logic Analysis, 1 million

New Sensor For Low-cost Automotive
Detection Systems

 A new version of Plessey's EPIC
(Electric Potential Integrated Circuit) sensor has been released, aimed
at automotive applications. Contactless ECG and movement sensing in
automotive applications include driver fatigue monitoring and seat
occupancy. With the patented PS25203
EPIC sensor chip, discrete movements of the human body
can be detected - even at a distance, as in specific hand motions.
Manufacturers are constantly trying to differentiate their automotive
products through improved user features and comfort inside the car.
EPIC sensors provide that opportunity. Applications include: driver
monitoring for health and alertness by detecting heart rate and
respiration; determining car occupancy to adjust the ride, handling and
air bag deployment depending on the size and location of occupants. EPIC
