 It's
been a bit of an international month here at Saelig, where Spring has
officially arrived even though the snow's only just melted. I
recently returned from a trip to the Southern Hemisphere, where it was
still late summer. I met with a couple of our suppliers, who had
interesting news about upcoming products that you should see shortly.
And one of the principals of our Swiss supplier AnaPico visited our
facilities to introduce new additions to their product line.

The new PSA Series II Spectrum
Analyzers from Aim-TTi build on the success of
their PSA-T predecessors: a lightweight and truly handheld instrument
with an extensive feature set, an improved user interface, many new
features and a ruggedized casing. The PSA1302 and PSA2702
supersede the popular PSA1301T and PSA2701T and include support for
flash drives, data logging, limit patterns, a limits comparator,
compensation tables, and trigger facilities. 1.8GB of memory is
available for logging of trace data or screen images in response to a

 The Atten GA4063 Spectrum Analyzer
is an advanced instrument for evaluating signals from 9kHz to 3GHz with
better performance specs than anything else in its price range. The
GA4063 features an easy-to-use keypad and soft-key layout, and a large
8.5-inch full-color TFT LCD display, making it a cost-effective,
user-friendly benchtop spectrum tool suited to a variety of LF to RF
application demands. Bandwidth resolution can be set from 1Hz to 3MHz in

20GHz Frequency
Synthesizer from AnaPico

 The APSYN420B is an economical,
wideband, fast-switching, low phase-noise 0.65GHz to 20 GHz frequency
synthesizer with a resolution of 0.001Hz and phase resolution of 0.1deg,
providing a nominal output power of +13 dBm into 50 ohms. The module
features a high-stability internal reference which can be phase-locked to
a user-configurable external reference. The module offers USB and
LAN interfaces and can be controlled using an SCPI 1999 command set.
Powered from an external 6V DC supply, it consumes less than 10 watts.

New
I2S
Serial Protocol added to Pico Software

PicoScope 6
oscilloscope software can now decode I2S
data thanks to a recent software update from Pico Technology. The I2S (Inter-IC
Sound) standard is a common serial data format used in audio equipment
such as CD players and DACs. All PicoScope users can download the new
beta release free of charge. In addition to I2S,
the software can decode I2C,
RS-232/UART, SPI, CAN, LIN and FlexRay serial data. Click here

Makerbot 2 and 2X 3D Printers

The newest 3D printers from MakerBot are now in stock.
The Replicator
2X is a higher-end version of the Replicator 2 which
MakerBot announced last autumn. Like the Replicator 2, the new model
features a finer printing resolution than the original MakerBot
Replicator (100 microns for each layer of extruded plastic) with a
redesigned chassis and an aluminum build platform. The print area on the
2X is now fully enclosed with plastic windows so the build area retains
heat better. The Replicator 2X has the ability to simultaneously print in
two-different colors and can also utilize either PLA (Polylactic acid) or
ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic filament. The Replicator 2
