Four-Channel Intelligent LED Controller Boards
|
|

The LED-Warrior04
LED controller board sets a new standard for LED driver flexibility.
This 4-channel, intelligent, programmable LED constant-current driver
has DALI, DMX512, and I2C interfaces on board, while other bus
protocols or wireless options can be added via the I2C interface. For
each of the four channels, the forward current and brightness of the
LEDs can be individually and independently programmed. Current can be
programmed from 80 mA to 1000 mA in 5mA steps. Brightness is controlled
by internal 12-bit PWMs for each channel, allowing 4096 steps, with
dimming down to 1/4096 or 0.024%. The programmability of the LED
forward current means that just one type of driver board can be used
with a wide range of LEDs. The high resolution of brightness control
allows precise color mixing or calibration of multiple LED groups. The
four 12-bit channels allow up to 281 trillion color hues.
I2C, DMX512 and DALI interfaces are available for controlling the four
channels. The I2C interface also allows lighting sequence programming
for standalone operation for running independent effects like fading or
color change. This interface can also be used for service - to
recalibrate already installed units, for instance. The LED-Warrior04
allows more design options by offering a rich feature set and in-system
programmability. A whole range of LED drivers can be replaced by this
single device, and the lamp-specific features can be easily set by
software. The LED-Warrior04 operates with DC input from 7V to 32V and
drives up to 4 x 25W to the connected LEDs at up to 94% efficiency.

Triple Output
Power Supply with 12 Ranges
|
|
Aim-TTi's MX100T is a 315
watt precision laboratory power supply offering three full performance
outputs each with multiple ranges. Unlike other triple output power
supplies, all three outputs have a similar power capability and can each
provide 0 to 35 volts at 0 to 3 amps. Range switching extends the
capabilities so that outputs can be set to 16V/6A or 70V/1.5A for maximum
versatility. Where higher power is needed from one output, internal
switching circuitry enables up to 210 watts to be provided from a single
output arranged as either 35V/6A or 70V/3A. All outputs are fully
isolated and independent but voltage tracking can be selected to make two
or even three outputs track a single voltage control. The isolated
tracking capability is useful for creating Tracking Voltages to different
ground points, tracking voltages of opposite polarity, or series and
parallel connection of outputs.

Self-Calibrating LED Reference Luminance Standard
|
|

GL Optic's OptiLight
LED 127 is an integrating-sphere-based uniform source
that offers a comprehensive test system in a compact size. The
newest version of this device now features a patented, multilevel
procedure that calibrates every LED light source and stores the spectral
properties in the unit's electronic controls. Closed-loop calibration is
possible through a high-accuracy photodiode. An electronic control system
and thermal stabilization achieve remarkable colorimetric stabilization.
The ability to control the properties of the internal LEDs uses a
complex multilevel calibration procedure that characterizes each
individual LED light source. It has been endorsed by cellphone
manufacturers who use it to match and calibrate front- and
back-cameras.

Programmable Laboratory
Precision UV/VIS/IR Spectrophotometer
|
|

Also from GL Optic is
the GL
SPECTIS 6.0 Spectrometer, a rack-mounted, high-end
production spectrometer for production QA testing and optical laboratory
setups. The GL Spectis 6.0, in combination with GL Optic's integrated
range of probes, integrating spheres, as well as compatible current
sources, powers supplies and TEC chip coolers, can measure the quality
properties of illuminants from LED wafers to large illuminators.
Supporting the most relevant standards, it can be an essential device to
maintain quality levels in production environments.
New lighting standards and temperature specifications impose an
increasing number of additional quality requirements on LED products. The
GL SPECTIS 6.0's 2U 19" form factor makes it ideal for use with
other test equipment in a standard rack mount and measures radiation
intensity across a very broad spectral range from 200 nm to 1050 nm -
from ultraviolet across the entire visible range to near infrared - with
a spectral resolution of just 3.5 nm. This feature set makes the GL
Spectis 6.0 the ideal instrument for high-throughput measurements of LED
wafers or large luminaries like street lamps, and it addresses the
increasingly stringent requirements of international illumination
standards such as CIE 127:2007 for LED surveys; this standard defines
techniques for measuring photometric and radiometric parameters such as
radiated power or LED partial luminous flux. The instrument also meets
the IESNA LM79-08 standard describing processes for reproducible
measurements of total luminous flux, light distribution, or color
temperature of solid-state lighting products. The GL Spectis 6.0 fulfills
the requirements of the ecodesign directive No. 1194/2012 regarding the
policies for efficiency and labeling of LED packages. Another important
property of LED illumination handled easily by the Spectis 6.0
Spectrophotometer is 'efficiency', frequently used as a comparison of
LEDs with conventional light sources.

Compact Electronic
DC Load with Optional Remote Control Capabilities
|
|

Aim-TTi's LD400
is a compact electronic DC load that features optional remote control
capabilities. The LD400 is a versatile 400 watt programmable electronic
DC load with a full range of control functionality. This inexpensive
electronic test load is ideal for evaluating and characterizing a wide
variety of DC power sources, such as batteries and solar cells, as well
as electronic power supply units. The LD400's wide voltage/current range,
multiple operating modes and built-in transient generator give it the
versatility to offer test solutions from the design laboratory through to
the component test area. The LD400P
version adds full bus remote control via USB, RS-232, GPIB and LAN
(Ethernet) interfaces.
The LD400 can operate at voltages below 500mV for currents up to 10 amps.
At higher currents the minimum remains below 1 volt up to 40 amps and
below 2 volts up to 80 amps. This low operating voltage allows it to be
used for many low voltage applications for which other electronic loads
are unsuitable. The LD400 can operate at power levels up to 600 watts for
periods of up to 1 minute. Short term loading can be sufficient for many
testing applications and significantly expands the usefulness of the
LD400. Maximum voltage and current are 80V and 80A with a maximum
continuous power capability of 400 watts, and a short term capability of
600 watts. An adjustable drop-out voltage can be set for testing
batteries.

High-precision DC
and AC Current Shunt Meter
|
|

The GW Instek PCS-1000 - a DC
and AC current shunt meter with built-in current shunts offering
high-accuracy current measurement capabilities. The PCS-1000 not only
measures current in five levels ─ 300A, 30A, 3A, 300mA and 30mA, but also
simultaneously measures and displays voltage with 6-1/2 digit resolution.
Due to the design of the high-stability and low-temperature coefficient
shunts, the PCS-1000 maintains high measurement accuracy even during
the temperature variations encountered during long-duration operation.
The maximum voltage/current measurement ranges of
PCS-1000, including DC 1000V / AC 600V / DC 300A / AC 300A, meet the
current and voltage measurement challenges of many applications such as
R&D, quality verification, and testing situations for power products,
power supplies, communications systems, servers, and electronic loads.
The PCS-1000 uses five high-precision shunt resistors (0.001ohm, 0.01ohm,
0.1ohm, 1ohm, and 10ohm) as the basis for accurate current and voltage
measurements.

PicoScope Automotive 4225 and 4445:
Recap
|
Pico Technology recently
launched the next generation of automotive PicoScopes with a host of
exciting features including floating inputs. The new scopes are
available as 2-channel 4225 and
4-channel 4425 models.
The use of Math Channel A-B perfectly demonstrates this new feature.
Like a differential oscilloscope, each channel requires its own
reference. The BNC shield of each channel must be connected to the system
under test. As with any differential measurement system, where both Hi
and Low inputs can be connected to a voltage above system ground, there
is a limit to how far these inputs can sit above the system ground - the
common mode range. The 4425 has a common mode range of +/-30 V at
the scope inputs. This means that the voltage between the BNC terminals
and the USB/digital system ground cannot exceed +/-30 V.

Pico Oscilloscopes break the 100,000
waveform/s barrier
|
Software for Pico Technology PC oscilloscopes now has a
continuous update rate of over 100,000 waveform/s faster than any other
PC oscilloscope, says Pico. The fast persistence mode is available on all
oscilloscopes from the PicoScope 3000 Series upwards, with the PicoScope
R6.10.2 beta software or later. Using dedicated hardware, this mode can
achieve update rates up to 120,000 waveform/s on USB 3.0 deep memory
scopes such as the PicoScope 6000C/D Series. With USB 2.0 deep memory
scopes, the update rate can now reach 80,000 waveform/s.
Even faster capture rates are possible using rapid trigger mode, which
collects bursts of up to 10,000 waveforms at a rate of up to one million
waveform/s into segmented memory for later viewing.
Users can download the latest software update free of charge from the
Pico Technology website. Non-users can
download the software and run it in demo mode.
