Economical 4-Channel 100/200MHz
SDS1000X-E  "Super Phosphor" Oscilloscopes

Fast refresh rate, advanced triggering and features, and deep memory help these new four-channel scopes break a new price/performance barrier.

The Siglent SDS1104X-E (100MHz) and Siglent SDS1204X-E (200MHz) four-channel oscilloscopes are built on the same platform as the very popular SDS1202X-E but with many improvements, including two 1GSa/s ADCs and two 14Mpt memory modules. Waveform capture rates are up to 100,000wfms/s in normal mode and 400,000wfms/s in sequence mode.  The SDS1000X-E scopes feature a large 7" 256-level color display with intensity grading and color temperature features to show signal event occurrence statistics.  An external AWG option lets you do on-screen Bode plots (gain/ phase vs. frequency). Supplied with free serial decoding and four passive probes, the Siglent SDS1000X-E 4-channel oscilloscopes are available now starting at only $499!

RSA5000 3.2/6.5GHz Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers

Ideal for monitoring intermittent and frequency-hopped wireless signals in real-time.

The Rigol Technologies RSA5000 Series of RF spectrum analyzers are new, real-time devices that scan a complete frequency spectrum of 9kHz to 3.2 or 6.5GHz with a maximum sample rate of 51.2MS/s.  They offer significant performance improvements over traditional swept spectrum analyzers by offering a 1ms full span sweep, an expanded vertical range to +30dBm, reduced phase noise to -108dBc/Hz, 1Hz RBW (resolution bandwidth), and a reduced noise floor (DANL) to -165dBm. They can also be used in traditional swept scan mode.  RSA5000 provide seven display modes (Normal, Density, Spectogram, Power v. Time, Density & Spectogram, PVT & Spectrum, PVT & Spectrogram) and include a Frequency Mask Trigger.  The Frequency Mask Trigger is especially useful for triggering measurements of sporadic or transient events.

New Economical 500MHz Dual-Channel AWGs from Siglent

SDG6000X Series2.4GSa/s 16-bit signal generators produce accurate, modulated waveforms at up to 20Vpp.

Available in 200/350/500MHz versions and starting at $1499, Siglent's SDG6000X series of Dual-Channel Pulse/Arbitrary Waveform Generators create test signals up to 500MHz using a sample rate of 2.4GSa/s and 16-bit vertical resolution for an 80dB dynamic range. This series features Siglent's proprietary TrueArb and EasyPulse technologies that solve the weaknesses inherent in traditional DDS waveform creation.  TrueArb technology generates arbitrary waveforms "point-by-point" to produce a very low jitter (< 150ps) output signal from stored memory.   Rapid rise and falling edges are enabled with the EasyPulse design, unaffected by frequency setting, extreme duty cycle, or extreme edge and width settings.

Compact 6GHz USB RF Vector Spectrum Analyzer

VSA6G2APocketable RF spectrum analyzer provides features comparable to full-size desktop analyzers in a tiny package.

The Triarchy Technologies VSA6G2A Vector Spectrum Analyzer - an economical USB RF tool that plugs into the USB port of a PC and is controlled with the provided PC application software.  It offers almost all of the functionality of a benchtop spectrum analyzer.  Its frequency range of operation is from 100Hz to 6.2GHz, with an amplitude measurement range of -140dBm to 24dBm. The RBW (resolution bandwidth) range is from 0.2Hz to 10MHz and the noise level (DANL) is as low as -140dBm.  The VSA6G2A is very compact (4" x 1" x 1") and easy to use. The software user interface has been designed to resemble the front panel of a standard desktop spectrum analyzer, allowing users to use the application intuitively without a steep learning curve. Multiplexed Matrix SwitchThe Multiplexed Matrix Switch (MMS) increases ABI's SYSTEM 8 usefulness and efficiency by combining the capabilities of multiplexer and matrix switching topologies.  It provides the ability to route signals for various design verification and data acquisition applications, run automated functional tests on components and PCBs, measure and compare signals from up to 64 points on a circuit, as well as makes more efficient use of cables, clips and probes. MSR Bluetooth Mini Datalogger for Ambient and Clothing Research

MSR147WDMiniature datalogger can be worn unobtrusively to log physiological parameters such as skin temperature and moisture level with up to five external, pre-calibrated humidity and temperature sensors.  

The miniature MSR 147WD Data Logger has been designed to receive up to 5pre-calibrated humidity, temperature, air pressure and acceleration sensors.  It is small (1.4" x 0.7" x 2.25") and lightweight (1oz), making this unobtrusive logger ideal for tests on human subjects. Among other applications it can be used for measuring the properties of textiles and clothing during manufacture and during active use. Creating RF Test Instruments With Programmable USB Modules


There is a trend in increasing use of mix-and-match USB-powered RF measurement devices to create powerful RF test set-ups. 

Creating a custom automated test system for RF signals up to 18 GHz usually requires costly instruments controlled from a PC. Computer-controlled test equipment once required racks of instruments connected to a control computer via GPIB, but GPIB has all but disappeared in new equipment and there is an increasing trend of using USB modules to quickly make test systems with laptop control that are affordable and that fit in a briefcase for field work.  No longer do you need to have a customized rackmount system specially designed for you.  You can build what you need with reusable USB RF building blocks. Telemakus is one of several companies now offering high-frequency measurement and signal generation functions up to 18GHz that take advantage of a laptop or personal computer (PC) for its processing and display capabilities.
