Dear Colleague,

It's great to see the blossoms on the trees here after a prolonged winter. As I write this, the local Rochester Lilac Festival is in full swing after a damp start. It's the largest festival of its kind in North America, which began 121 years ago and continues to be inspired by the magnificent lilac collection at Highland Park, expertly designed by Frederick Law Olmsted to seem like a natural occurrence of trees, shrubs and flowers. 500 varieties of lilacs are now in full bloom on more than 1,200 bushes. Highland Park has a history as colorful as its 500 varieties of flowering shrubs.

Single Channel DC Supplies

Multichannel Supplies


If you need more than one voltage (maybe a logic supply and +/- rails for an analog section) then we can satisfy those needs too. Siglent's SPD3303X-E Linear Programmable DC Power Supply at $389 offers three independent, isolated outputs, with a minimum resolution of 10mV/10mA. Channels 1 and 2 can each output up to 32V at 3.2A, while Channel 3 is designed as a logic supply, selectable to 2.5/3.3/5V at up to 3.2A. Each output has short-circuit and overload protection, and an intelligent temperature-controlled fan reduces operational noise. Here's a helpful EEVblog teardown video of the SDP3303X version (1mV/1mA control instead of  the SPD3303X-E's 10mV/10mA). Rigol's DP800 Series of linear power source systems have up to 3 outputs and 200 Watts of total power. Built in V, A, and W measurements make power monitoring easy.  In addition,  wave tracking, timing, and analysis features offer even more ways to use the supplies.

AIM-TTi's QPX 1.2kW Dual Output DC Power Supplies offer users a level of flexibility that cannot be achieved with conventional laboratory power supplies. Dual isolated outputs of 600 watts each use PowerFlex+ regulation to provide a very wide range of voltage/current combinations with a selection of digital interfaces offered: USB, RS232, GPIB and LXI- compliant Ethernet LAN.




High Power DC Supplies


Preen's ADG-L Series of Programmable DC Power Supplies consists of 14 models with three different output powers: 4kW, 8kW and 12kW. Utilizing PWM technology, ADG-L supplies deliver precisely controlled, stable outputs. With CV, CC and CP modes, the ADG-L series is ideal for Photovoltaic, Electric Vehicle, battery, fuse/capacitor and third party laboratory testing. The 1000V High Voltage model is especially suitable for EV-related R&D testing, as well as product aging tests. The RoHS-compliant ADG-L series is not only a cost-effective range but also an environment-friendly DC power supply series. It also features complete output protection measures, including OVP, OCP, OPP, UVP and OTP. Preen's ADG-L series compact DC power supplies employ DSP-based control, with the 4-12kW models available in a 3U housing, and 24kW in 6U housing.

For even higher power, Preen's ADG series offers output voltages up to 1600V and output current up to 2000A. Users can select standard RS-485 interface or optional RS-232 and GPIB. The STEP and GRADUAL modes allow easy setup on test sequence. 




Power Quality Testing


We have a wide range of power quality analyzers from the well-respected Japanese company Hioki. Hioki's portable power meters and analyzers are best in class power measuring instruments for measuring single to three-phase lines with a high degree of precision and accuracy. These comprehensive but easy-to-use power quality analyzers are great for monitoring and recording power supply anomalies, allowing their causes to be quickly investigated, and also for assessing power supply problems such as voltage drops, flicker, harmonics, and other electrical issues. 




Designing Your Own Power Supply?


Then one of our Programmable DC Loads may be just what you need! We have a versatile selection of loads from AIM-TTi, GWInstek, Rigol, Siglent, and TekBox. Siglent's SDL1020X/SDL1020X-E loads can be set to simulate a wide range of load characteristics with an input range of 150V/30A.  There are 200W and 300W models, with a resolution of 1mV/1mA or 0.1mV/0.1mA.  Both series have adjustable current rise times from 1mA/us to 2.5A/us. These loads have four types of static/dynamic modes: constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance, and constant power, as well as a CR-LED mode designed specifically for LED driver experiments.
