Mini-board Ethernet-enables USB
Devices Quickly!
Pittsford, NY: ASRB-USB is a new UHC122 -based USB host board with built-in ARM7 controller for quickly and easily network-enabling USB devices such as printers or barcode scanners. Featuring simple setup implementation, this USB-to-Ethernet Gateway Module is built on WIZnet’s high-stability, high-reliability, fully-hardwired TCP/IP stack chip W3150A+.
With its USB Type A connector socket, ASRB-USB acts as a USB 2.0 Full Speed (12Mbps) host, so it can connect to USB device peripherals like barcode readers, printers, etc. The auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface supports DHCP, so now you can network-enable USB printers, scanners and storage devices. RoHS-compliant and 5V-powered ASRB-USB converts legacy USB devices into network-enabled devices, overcoming the 5m/15-ft USB cable length limitation. Out-of-the-box, ASRB-USB supports USB printers, but other USB peripherals such as USB HDD (Mass Storage) and scanners can be accommodated by making small changes to the supplied source code.
Network information is
acquired from the server by ASRB-USB, communicating with the internal
configuration tool, and enumerating and manipulating the data. Data from the
network is then transparently transferred to and from the USB device. ASRB-USB’s
Ethernet RJ-45 connector can also be used for firmware upgrades.
ASRB-USB
complete with power supply is available now from
stock from Saelig Co. Inc.
