Saelig Introduces
New Spectrum Analyzers up to 7.5 GHz from Rigol
Affordability, performance, and advanced features make these RF analyzers ‘must-have’ test equipment

Fairport NY:  Saelig Company Inc. announces the Rigol DSA800 Spectrum Analyzers Series that extends coverage up to 7.5 GHz. The DSA832 and DSA875 expand this spectrum analyzer family to 3.2 and 7.5 GHz respectively with specifications that far exceed the very popular and affordable DSA815-TG.  These new instruments enable precise direct measurements of higher frequency signals and systems, complete with built-in tracking generators.

For Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other RF designs, high performance specs like SSB Phase Noise as low as -98 dBc/Hz at a 10 KHz offset allow engineers to more accurately analyze modulation and noise issues in signals of interest. The ability to make measurements up to 7.5GHz is critical for seeing third harmonics of 2.4GHz wireless designs, while resolution bandwidth settings down to 10Hz means more precise visualization of low power RF signals.

The Rigol DSA815 has become one of the industry's go-to tools for pre-compliance testing, and now the expanded range up to 7.5GHz enables a more complete EMI test coverage. The EMI-DSA800 option provides the EMI RBW settings as well as a Quasi-Peak filter across the entire spectrum of interest for compliance and immunity testing. Extremely low power issues can be investigated by adding an optional preamplifier (PA-DSA832 or PA-DSA875). The displayed average noise level (DANL) normalized to 1 Hz is specified as low as -161 dBm (typical) from 5 MHz to 3.2 GHz.  The rugged but affordable DSA800 Series Spectrum Analyzers have a broad set of features and options including a VSWR measurement toolkit for configuring and evaluating antennas, as well as an advanced measurement kit (DSA800-AMK) that enables additional measurement functions such as channel boundaries and signal-to-noise ratio. New accessories include the 8GHz VSWR bridge or directional coupler (VB1080) and attenuator sets for higher power work (6dB, 10 dB, or 30 dB high power attenuators).

Some engineers attempt pre-compliance testing with the FFT function of digital oscilloscopes rather than spectrum analyzers, but most scopes cannot measure accurately below a few millivolts and the signal levels at the antenna terminals are often microvolts.   So whether debugging an RF transceiver set, designing layout and configuration changes to maximize efficiency, or testing a system in noisy environments, the economical DSA800 Series Spectrum Analyzers help to quickly and easily identify and analyze areas of RF concern.

DSA800 Series Spectrum Analyzers are made by Rigol Technologies, a rapidly growing test and measurement company and the world’s second largest DSO manufacturer by volume. Rigol delivers high quality, high performance and value-priced test equipment for engineers, technicians and students worldwide. Offered with a remarkable 3-year warranty, DSA800 Series Spectrum Analyzers are available now from Saelig Company, Inc.
