High Security Lock Switch
Limits Access

Pittsford, NY: DSL Lock Switch, designed for safety and security applications, features a high-security, hard-to-duplicate key switch mechanism. DSL Lock Switch can be fitted in equipment power lines where it is essential to restrict control or power to authorized users only.

DSL Lock Switch is ruggedly designed yet simple to mount and RoHS compliant. The lock is mounted to an equipment panel from the front, and the electrical switch mechanism snaps on to the back. The high security key for DSL Lock Switch is a “dimpled design”, not an easily-duplicated cut-out key - it is therefore not easily compromised. The key recesses operate a 6-pin lock with a 90° movement. The key may be inserted into the lock either way up and withdrawn in both the locked and unlocked switch positions.  Over 15,000 key combinations are available with options of all different keys or common “pass” keys for applications requiring single key control of multiple secure systems by supervisors or service engineers.

DSL Lock Switch is rated for currents between 4 to 80A at 250VAC over an operating life of >10,000 cycles. The switch has an operating temperature range of –25 to +85°C, is flame retardant to UL94 V0 and approved to EN 61058. Connection is made via plated brass solder terminals or using optional PCB terminals and two switching options are available, 2-pole off/on (normally open) or 2-pole on/off (normally closed). With a 3mm contact gap the snap-on switch mechanism provides line voltage safety isolation to 3KV. Switch contacts employed are silver cadmium and the lock housing is zinc alloy, bright chrome plated with a parallel-sided lock head.

This represents an important new product for designers and manufacturers of security equipment. Secure access to electrical panels, safety shutters, alarms and monitoring systems has become a major factor in system design to prevent tampering, unauthorised access or even liability issues. DSL Lock Switch offers both a high security key mechanism and a rugged, reliable electrical switch. Typical applications for DSL Lock Switch include, security shutters, alarm and security control panels in airports, prisons, police stations etc, factory equipment, instrumentation and electrical control panels.

Made by Lorlin Electronics, one of Europe’s major switch manufacturers, DSL Lock Switches are available  from Saelig Co. Inc.
