Quick Turnaround FOR HC35 High-Reliability
Aerospace and Defence Crystals From Saelig
Pittsford, New York. Saelig Co.
Inc. (Pittsford, NY) announces new short delivery lead-times for custom
high-rel HC35 (TO5) crystals from its European supplier/ manufacturer
Euroquartz.
Ideal for aerospace and defense applications, HC35 TO5-packaged
crystals can now be shipped within 15 days, with shorter lead-times of just
a few days available to special order (depending on specification required
and factory loading). Custom crystals can be produced quickly at any
frequency from 8 to 40MHz in fundamental mode and up to 260MHz in overtone
modes.
HC35 crystals are housed in the industry standard TO5 resistance
weld, hermetically-sealed package and offer a well-proven design with a long
history of military and aerospace design-ins where durability and ability to
maintain close tolerances in a hostile environment are desirable qualities.
TO5 housing - well-known for transistors - when used to house crystals has
the advantage of providing a three-point crystal mounting scheme, ruggedized
for shock and vibration environments.
Calibration tolerances from ±3ppm can be achieved and temperature
stabilities of ±5ppm over -20 to +70 deg C are available (±3ppm over -10 to
+60 deg C). Common specifications include maximum shunt capacitance (C0) of
4pF, drive level of 100 W maximum, shock of 100g/6ms, vibration of 10g/1.5mm
(10 to 500Hz, 3 axis) and ageing of ±2ppm maximum for first year, ±1ppm
typical per year thereafter. Several operating temperature ranges are
available, including 0 to 55 deg C and from -55 to +125 deg C.
All HC35 crystal parameters can be customer specified without
delaying the design, so Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), Motional
Capacitance and Inductance, and C0:C1 ratio may all be customized to design
requirements.
