Pittsford, New York. PicoServ HDI is a low cost web server
module featuring 48 programmable digital I/O ports, an integrated Ethernet
interface, an RS232 serial interface and EEPROM file system. PicoServ HDI
is an ‘Internet Engine’ that provides a flexible web-browser-based interface
over a LAN or internet with minimal design effort. PicoServ HDI supports
dynamic web pages, enabling reading and writing of the I/O port values from a
standard web browser. PicoServ HDI’s 48 on-board digital I/O ports are
programmable as inputs or outputs, and a general purpose full duplex
asynchronous RS232 serial port allows communication with RS232 devices.
The 2.8” x 2” PicoServ HDI also implements an IEE 488.2, SCPI over IP/UDP
protocol for reading and setting the digital I/O ports and other system
parameters from applications other than a web browser. The IEE 488/SCPI command
structure makes integration of PicoServ HDI into test and measurement
environments particularly straight forward. A set of standard web pages are
pre-loaded allowing control of the I/O ports “out of the box”, but these may be
supplemented or replaced by customer written web pages by using the utilities
provided. The TTL level ports have a 50mA sink/source drive capability per
output and a maximum drive of 600mA per module.
The EEPROM file storage area can support almost any type of file including HTML, GIF, JPEG, and JAVA, and means that only standard web authoring techniques are required to provide an eloquent and professional browser based interface for almost any system.
PicoServ HDI is made in UK by Compulogic Ltd, a European communications specialist dedicated to providing innovative data communications based solutions. Compulogic’s PicoServ technology provides an ‘off-the-shelf’ modular system aimed at providing straightforward solutions for web, SMS and GPRS remote control solutions.
