Do you know the temperature and humidity conditions your wine or storage cellar
reached last night? Wine is just one food item which should be kept in specific
temperature and humidity environments to provide optimum conditions for it to
mature or keep well. Temperatures and humidity above or below these levels can
seriously affect quality and value of the wine or other chemical process. How
about your fridges or freezers? If temperature conditions are exceed it is
important to get a warning out as soon as possible. Several monitoring devices
are available to suit many needs and budgets.
For remote monitoring, TR-72W is a new type of temperature/humidity logger with a built-in Ethernet/LAN interface. This unique feature enables quick and easy data collection and monitoring anywhere on a wired network, or even wirelessly via an optional Wi-Fi card. Network functionality allows cost-effective measurement and logging from a distance, with TR-72W’s internal storage for 8000 readings.
Networking capability
makes it easy not only to gather recorded data and monitor current readings from
a far away facility, but gives the ability for warning emails to be sent to a
cell phone or other email address. Tiny 2” x 3” x 1.5” TR-72W loggers can
be connected via a wired LAN network or easily set up
wirelessly with an 802.11b Wi-Fi card, thus making troublesome cables and wires
obsolete, and extending the placement possibilities for loggers.
By taking
advantage of the infrastructure of widely-available Internet or other LAN
systems, gathering ambient data can be done easily from
just about anywhere. Using an Internet browser to access TR-72Ws it is
now possible to view real-time temperature and humidity readings, as well as
seeing graphically up to 7 days of recorded data. An Internet browser can also
be used securely anywhere to control start/stop recording, check battery, or
download recorded data. Supplied software can then be used to process and manage
the saved temperature and humidity information.
Designed to measure ambient conditions of 0 to 50 degC and non-condensing humidities of 20 to 80%RH, TR-72W has a measurement resolution of 0.1 degC/1%RH. By inserting a CF-type 802.11b Wireless LAN card into TR-72W, the data logger can be easily integrated into your wireless LAN system for placement away from network connections.
TR-72W including display/control software is in stock now from Saelig.
For small areas, or local access without wires, RTR-50 offers a series data loggers to form a wireless network to gather temperature, humidity, voltage, event-time or pulse-counting data up to 100 meters away from a base station. In fact, the logger modules can be mounted on moving equipment and the data downloaded later as you drive-by with the handheld base unit!
Communicating securely only with pre-registered modules, RTR-50 units can be used to measure temperatures of freezers or vessels remotely, gather data from moving parts on productions lines, or applications in agriculture, food production, wine-making and brewing, or for recording events such as door-opening or equipment use. All units have built-in LCDs to display readings and settings, with a memory capacity of 16,000 measurements. The battery-operated units can run for at least 6 months with their built-in lithium power source, or up to 2.5 years with an additional battery pack.
RTR-57C handheld base unit is used for setting the operating parameters of the data-collecting modules, as well as communicating via serial or USB connection with a PC for data processing with the free software supplied. Up to 3840 modules can be connected wirelessly to the base unit. The modules can be set up and controlled wirelessly. RTR-57C base unit has a unique high-quality graphing LCD to show trends of data gathered. A user-selection thumbwheel lets you scroll the graph to view more detail. The RTR-57C handheld unit receives the downloaded data from its wireless-networked modules, and stores up to 256,000 readings for later download to a PC. In this way, the data-gathering logger modules can be permanently installed, even in hard-to-reach places - their information being retrieved wirelessly!
Monitoring
intervals can be set from 1 second to 60 minutes, depending on your needs, and
temperatures from -60degC to +155degC can be made as far away as 100 meters, if
unobstructed. Humidity from 10 to 95%RH can be measured in a restricted
temperature range of 0 degC and 50 degC. Easy to use Windows software allows
you to control all aspects of set-up, recording and downloading, as well as
printing, creating text files, tables and colored graphs of the recorded data.
RTR-50 series modules are available now from stock with the RTR-57C base unit at from Saelig.
An
economical standalone logger that can be used for goods in transit is
EL-USB-2
- a new USB temperature/humidity logger. This data logger measures and stores up
to 16,382 relative humidity and 16,382 temperature readings over 0 to 100%RH and
-35 to +80°C (-31 to +176°F) measurement ranges. The user can easily set up the
logging rate and start time, and download the stored data by plugging the module
straight into a PC’s USB port and running the purpose-designed software under
Windows 98, 2000 or XP.
Relative humidity, temperature and dew point (the temperature at which water
vapor present in the air begins to condense) data can then be graphed, printed
and exported to other applications. The data logger is supplied complete with a
long-life lithium battery, which can typically allow logging for a year. Status
indication is via flashing red and green LEDs. The logger is protected against
ingress from water and dust to IP67 standard when the plastic cap and seal are
fitted.
Easy-to-use configuration software is supplied free, allowing the user to easily
set recording parameters for the IP67-housed EL-USB-2 data logger.
Selections include logging rate, measurement units, high & low alarms and
start-time. The logged data stored in EL-USB-2 is downloaded to any
USB1.1 port on a PC via the configuration software. Once downloaded, the data
can be graphed, printed or exported to other applications. The data logger
configuration software is compatible with Windows 98/2000/XP.
