Introduces New Economical
Ethernet/Serial WiFi Bridge
Pittsford, NY: WIZ610Wi is a new economical gateway module which provides a ready-to-use bridge component for RS-232 or Ethernet to IEEE802.11b/g wireless communications. Now you can easily add wireless network capabilities to your product! Devices with an RS-232 serial or Ethernet interface can easily establish connection with a wireless network – great for remote monitoring, management and controlling of embedded equipment.
WIZ610Wi operates as an access connection or a repeater for embedded 802.11b/g wireless networking. WIZ610Wi offers the security features of 64/128 bit WEP, WPA, WPA2(AES) with a wide range of protocols (ARP, UDP, TCP, Telnet, ICMP, IGMP, DHCP, PPPoE, BOOTP, HTTP, SMTP, TFTP) from a GPIO, MII, or UART interface. This instant serial to wireless solution provides up to 25Mbps-Ethernet /230,400bps- RS232 data streaming in a tiny (39mm x 32mm x 4.7mm) RoHS-compliant building block that weighs only 8g. Output power for 802.11b is 16dBm @ 11Mbps, and for 802.11g 14dBm @ 6-54Mbps. The receiver sensitivity for 802.11b: is down to -65dBm @ 11Mbps, and for 802.11g -76dBm @ 54Mbps, giving WIZ610Wi an operating range of up to 100m indoors, or up to 400m outdoors. A socket for an external antenna is also provided.
WIZ610Wi requires 3.3V at >700mA and will operate in temperatures from -5℃ to 55℃. An evaluation board with easy-start DB9 (serial) and RJ-45 (Ethernet) connectors is also available. 17
