Ramsey's STEGBE4591 Gigabit PoE Interface is similar to STEGBE4590, except that the Ethernet PoE power detection has been removed in order to provide 8 transparent lines for Gigabit Ethernet or other data formats that conflict with 802.3 af/at mode detection. STEGBE4591 still passes PoE power, and it enables custom I/O applications up to 250 MHz per line. It provides isolation of more than 90 dB, and it is physically interchangeable with STEGBE4590 and the two 10 Gigabit PoE interfaces. STEGBE4591 is also compatible with Graykey, the solution used by law enforcement agencies for breaking an iPhone passcode.
Comparing STEGBE4590 and STEGBE4591: STEGBE4590 provides PoE mode detection to tell you if PoE is using mode A, Mode B, or both Mode A and Mode B. STEGBE4591 does not provide the mode detection but provides all other PoE and Gigabit Ethernet functions as well as being a versatile 8 line data interface for other data protocols. STEGBE4590’s PoE Mode Detection circuitry may interfere with other than Ethernet data protocols. If you need to know what PoE mode is being used then you definitely want STEGBE4590. If you don’t need to know what PoE mode is being used then STEGBE4591 may be a better solution because it allows other protocols to pass through the interface. This makes STEGBE4591 a more versatile interface. Please review the datasheet you’ll find in the downloads tab of each product page for more information.
