Declaration of Belief
We believe that life's highest purpose for each individual is to become all that she or he is created to be. The purpose of the Corporation is to bless and prosper the families connected with it, to offer great value and service to our suppliers and customers, and, where possible, to make worthy contributions to the common good. We believe that personal priorities should value God and family above work; therefore we will share duties to accommodate family needs (within reason and as business allows) so that the all-important family unit is built up. We encourage each other to draw wisdom from the Judeo-Christian traditions on which this country was founded and from individual expressions of spirituality. Because economic success is essential for an environment that fosters human development and provides for the common good, we will maintain an orderly, efficient and profitable organization, realizing that profit is not our ultimate goal. Increased profits will allow us to increase employment and hence bless more families, vendors and customers.
Saelig is a team united in a business based on ethical and spiritual values, promoting individual growth for the common good of co-workers, their families, customers, suppliers and the local and global community. Rooted in Judeo-Christian values, we welcome and draw on the richness of our spiritually diverse community. We are committed to provide an environment where there is harmony between work and our moral/ethical values and family responsibilities and where everyone is treated justly. A tradition of excellence at Saelig is rooted in the character of our Creator. We strive to express the excellence that is within all of us, maintaining a concept that working at Saelig should be a happy, fun experience.
By adhering to the following four common spiritual principles, we will work and make decisions consistent with God's purpose for creation according to our individual understanding.
- Treat others as we would like to be treated
We take inspiration and guidance from Bible passages, such as Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” and 1 Peter 2:12 “Live such good lives … that … they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” Mark 12:31 “Love your neighbor as yourself”
- Do what is right
We are committed to do what is right, even when it does not seem to be profitable, expedient, or conventional.
Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
- Do our best
In our understanding of excellence, we are committed to continuous improvement in everything we do. Col.3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” is our commitment to encourage, teach, equip, and free each other to become all that we were intended to be.
- Seek Inspirational Wisdom
We will look outside ourselves, especially with respect to decisions having far-reaching and unpredictable consequences. Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”
We supply innovative products for a national and global market. Our goal is to continually improve our ability to meet customer needs. How we accomplish our mission is important to us. The following groups are fundamental to our success.
People are the heart of Saelig. We are committed to provide a secure opportunity to earn a livelihood and pursue personal growth, caring about family needs as they arise.
Customers are the lifeblood of Saelig. Our products and services must be the best in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
We recognize that profitability is necessary to continue in business, reach our full potential, and fulfill our responsibilities. We expect profits, but our commitments to coworkers and customers come before short term profits.
We will treat our suppliers as valuable partners in all our activities. We will review suppliers who, in our opinion, act unethically.
We will aim to use a share of our resources to meet local and global community needs.
In following these principles we will experience
enjoyment, happiness, peace of mind and progress
in our work and in our individual lives.
