The Model 10x Picoammeters are designed to operate between 2nA to 20mA full scale with 1fA and 6½ digit resolution. Their auto-zero function ensures that the input burden voltage remains as close to zero as possible, thus compensating for time and temperature- induced drifts. The units are designed with solid-state range switching which eliminates the uncertainties associated with the electromechanical relays associated with older designs. All models can float up to ±300V from earth ground, permitting accurate high-side-current measurements.
The units are equipped with a USB 2.0 interface and an intuitive software package that provides control, display, data logging, and statistical analysis functions. Powerful APIs for data acquisition and control are also supplied, with support for user-written software in Visual Studio®, LabVIEW™, or other languages using the IVI-compliant driver.
The Model 101 Picoammeter features a built-in quiet, programmable voltage bias supply with fine resolution and precise adjustment. Voltages are monitored by the measurement system to verify accurate voltages. This bias supply is for biasing silicon photodiodes, biasing avalanche photodiodes, characterizing the low current regions of semiconductors, and high-megohm resistance measurements.
The Model 101 Picoammeter has a digital I/O interface that can be configured to drive selected pins based on measurement levels - ideal for triggering alarms or binning components. Users can control the eight TTL I/O lines via scripted commands or user interface buttons.
The Model 101 Picoammeter has a SyncBus that allows multiple instruments, and the associated communications, to be synchronized which reduces operating system latencies. It provides arming and triggering options compatible with mainstream products, such as switching systems, DMMs, and component handlers which can be controlled by user-written software in Visual Studio or other languages by using the supplied IVI compliant driver.
The AMETRIX Picoameters are ideal for applications such as: electron and ion beam current measurements, electron current stability testing, ion current stability testing, mass spectrometer current measurements, photodiode current, dark current measurements (up to 127 devices simultaneously), beam and particle monitoring, data-logging current comparisons, conductivity measurements, optical fiber alignment, component, sensor, and device i-v characterization, leakage current testing, vacuum diode testing, analog and mixed-signal circuit testing and analysis, teaching labs, and more.
The Model 10x Picoammeters are compact (10” x 8.5” x 1.7”) and light weight (0.95lb) and are available now from Saelig Company. Inc., Fairport, NY.
