Saelig Introduces
Multichannel Digital Delay/Pulse Generator With 250ps Resolution

Fairport, NY:  Saelig Company, Inc. announces the availability of the Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse generator, which offers the latest technology in timing capabilities.  Available in 4 or 8 channel versions, each output can be individually configurable with its own trigger, gate, delay, and width settings.  The Model 577 provides precise delays, pulse widths, and picosecond resolution for timing up to 1000 seconds.  With 250ps width and delay resolution, and <200ps internal jitter, timing precision is sufficient to give precision gating, triggering, delay, clocking, and synchronization sufficient for almost any application.  Additionally, optical electrical outputs and inputs are optionally available: all electrical, all optical, or a combination of both may be selected.  Many applications can benefit from optical signals: in environments with EMI issues, optical signals may be a necessity.  For noisy environments, or communications applications, an LED output stage available at the front panel is very beneficial.  This modular optical output option can be configured for 2, 4, or 8 outputs at 820nm or 1300nm.  Also provided are ‘pulse picking’ capabilities, selectable external clocks, and USB/RS232 programming.

The Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse Generator is ideal for applications in which several pulses or gate signals need to be delayed and timed with respect to each other or to a common trigger, such as:

For synchronizing to an external clock, frequencies may be selected between 10MHz and 100MHz in 1MHz increments.  And as an example with the ‘pulse picking’ function at 80MHz, a single pulse out of an 80MHz pulse stream may be selected.  Each of the output channels may have separate patterns that may be continuous, single burst, repetitive burst series, a sub-harmonic of another channel, or a single timed pulse.  Output pulses can have individual delays and widths, making the Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse Generator extremely versatile.

The Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse Generator stores setup configurations while powering down, and setup recall is automatic on power-up.  Instrument functionality can also be upgraded in the field, such as a special or custom feature upgrade via a fully programmable FPGA.

The Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse Generator provides multi-channel 250ps-resolution timing, delaying, gating, pulsing and syncing functions for a variety of applications.  Made by Berkeley Nucleonics, a leading manufacturer of precision electronic instrumentation for test, measurement, and nuclear research, the Model 577 Digital Delay/Pulse Generator is available now from Saelig Company, Inc. their USA technical distributor.
