Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced two new ultrasonic level instruments: the Portalevel® LITE and the Portalevel® ADVANCED, designed by Coltraco Ultrasonics, a global leader in precision ultrasonic technology. These two new offerings are the 12th generation of Coltraco’s pioneering ultrasonic liquid level indication technology, that can detect liquid levels non-invasively through cylinder walls. Designed for the modern demands of fire suppression system maintenance, these instruments add to the company’s existing award-winning range, which includes the successful Portalevel® MAX PLUS and Portalevel® IS instruments, which customers have found easy to use and accurate, streamlining maintenance processes and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
These new, handheld liquid level indicators can non-invasively detect when a sensor probe is adjacent to the gas or liquid phase through a cylinder wall. A transducer in the handheld wand generates an ultrasonic pulse that is transmitted into the cylinder, and the reflected response signal is measured. Analysis of the reflected signal determines if the transducer is positioned adjacent to the liquid or gas phase of the cylinder’s contents.
The Portalevel® LITE version is designed for basic, routine servicing where a simple, reliable, and affordable solution is required. It shares the same basic ultrasonic technology as more advanced models, but offers essential functionality at a lower price point, making it ideal for less frequent inspections or smaller operations. The Portalevel® ADVANCED version sets a new benchmark for those requiring analytical precision and enhanced troubleshooting capabilities.
