Saelig Introduces WEROCK Rockbook X500 Series Rugged Laptop PCs for Challenging Environments
These sturdy IP65 laptops offer great mobility outdoors with their superior battery technology with hot-swappable dual batteries and multiple connection possibilities

Fairport, NY, USA:  Saelig Compan, Inc. has introduced two new Rockbook X500 Series Rugged Laptops from German supplier WEROCK to suit demanding indoor or outdoor environments. The Rockbook X550 G2 is a 15.6” rugged notebook PC, while the X540 offers a 14” display.  Both devices have 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution designed for high brightness viewing (touchscreen optional) in operating temperatures from -21 to +60 °C.  These sturdy laptops are supplied in robust plastic housings with a built-in ergonomic carrying handle and edge protection, designed to an IP65 standard and protected to MIL-STD-810G against vibration and falls from a height of up to 4ft.

The Rockbook X500 series offers a choice of Intel® Core i5 and i7 cores, with both systems equipped with two M.2 slots.  Two DDR4 RAM offer a choice of 8, 16 or 32GB RAM. Up to 512 GB Military Grade M2 SSD is available, with a second hard drive possible via a SATA expansion slot. Network connections can be made using two Gigabit Ethernet ports, plus an Intel AX200 module with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. These Rockbook laptops offer great mobility outdoors with their superior battery technology, delivering a runtime of up to 10 hours, while the hot-swappable dual batteries provide a continuous mobile operation - simply replace the removable battery with a charged one while the computer is running.  A smaller battery is permanently installed, which makes it possible to replace the 46.6Wh battery without shutting the system down.

These Rockbooks offer robustness together with comprehensive functions and connectivity via Microsoft’s powerful Windows 10 or 11 Professional operating system. The built-in SSD ensures maximum security and speed of critical data and the ability to withstand shock events. Plenty of connection capabilities are included, such as USB 3.0 ports, one serial port, two Ethernet ports, NFC, WiFi and one SD card slot. A rarely-found feature of these laptops is the RS232 port that can drive the many legacy serial devices that are still ubiquitous in the field.  The Rockbook X550 is also equipped with a GPS/GNSS sensor to ensure accurate location information.

Strong security is increasingly important today and the Rockbook X550 versions offer intelligent protection thanks to the integrated TPM 2.0 module, which meets the EAL4+ industry standard.  On the hardware level, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 is a powerful tamper protection chip that checks for unauthorized intrusion at system startup. The discrete cryptoprocessor also serves as a secure storage for the cryptographic key, created using encryption software such as Windows BitLocker. Further security is provided by login via Windows Hello using fingerprint, smart card or login via USB stick as well as the numerous other security functions of Windows 11 Pro such as Microsoft Defender Security Suite, Windows Information Protection, device encryption, firewall and network protection.

These WEROCK laptops are not much bigger or heavier than their non-rugged cousins (X550 G2 = 15.6” x 10.7” x 1.7” - 7.3lb; X540 = 14.3” x 10.6” x 1.7” -  6.3lb) and are ideal for use in challenging environments.  Designed in Germany by WEROCK Technologies, the Rockbook X5500 Rugged Laptops are available from Saelig Company, Inc.
