    Pico Software

PicoScope 7 is computer software for real-time signal acquisition with Pico Technology oscilloscopes. PicoScope is supported on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Debian and Ubuntu platforms. PicoScope can view and analyze real-time signals from PicoScope oscilloscopes and data loggers. PicoScope software and PicoScope oscilloscopes have advanced trigger types that enable capturing a stable waveform even with complex signals. This makes them ideal for troubleshooting glitches, timing violations, overvoltages and dropouts in analog and digital circuits. PicoScope oscilloscopes offer advantages like cost, portability, advanced software features, and integration with computer-based tools.

From this page you can download the latest version of PicoScope Test & Measurement oscilloscope software and PicoLog data logging software. If you do not own a Pico product you can download the software for the product you are interested in and run in demo mode.

Also available here is a third-party application called FRA4PicoScope Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots which can be used with most Picoscopes for analyzing the transfer function of components, circuits, and systems in the frequency domain. FRA4PicoScope uses the PicoScope's built-in signal generator to inject a sinusoidal signal into a device under test (DUT). The signal is measured at the point of injection using one of the PicoScope input channels. The injected signal travels through the DUT and is measured simultaneously at a second reference point - normally the output of the system - using a second PicoScope channel. The main output is a Bode plot of the DUT gain (dB) and phase (degrees). For the application to run correctly you need the latest PicoScope SDK installed on your PC.

FRAs is a useful tool for evaluating feedback loop performance in switched mode power supplies, allowing a designer to evaluate gain and phase margin to ensure that the design is stable across all operating conditions and load characteristics. (An injection transformer is required.)
