BNC Model 1105 Frequency Counter, is a Universal, RF Frequency and Time Interval counter in one package. Compare it with counters from other vendors and you’ll find this one has superior performance at significantly lower price. Connect a signal to the input, and the digital readout tells you the counts, and displays events. Most frequency counters work by using a counter which accumulates the number of events occurring within a specific period of time. After a preset period (say, 1 second) the value is shown on a display and the counter is reset to zero. If the event being measured repeats itself with sufficient stability and the frequency is considerably lower than that of the clock oscillator being used, the resolution of the measurement of a frequency counter can be greatly improved by measuring the time required for an entire number of cycles, rather than counting the number of entire cycles observed for a pre-set duration (often referred to as the reciprocal technique). The internal oscillator of a frequency counter provides the time signals which is called time base, and must be calibrated very accurately. The user-friendly software provided allows you to control your frequency counter from a PC or through a network. The SCPI software commands are compatible. The Model 1105 has 12 digits resolution and 40 ps of time interval resolution. The real-time DSP front-end technology facilitates faster measurement throughput. |
