The Rover series of USB extenders use patented "ExtremeUSB" technology to 100% transparently extend the range of USB connections up to 50m. No external power is required   ExtremeUSB is the only USB extension system approved by the USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum) & offers a level of reliability not available in any other products.  The Rover 2650 provides 2 x USB inputs at the remote end.   Standard Cat 5 (or better) cabling is used in between a LEX (Local Extender) & a REX (Remote Extender) to extend USB connections. This means that standard Ethernet patch cables or existing Cat 5 networks can be used as the medium for USB extension. The Rover series products always comprise a LEX & REX unit, everything you need for a working connection (less the interconnecting cable)
