The EV-Test100 is a 1- and 3-phase test adapter with type 2 connector for simulating charge levels and to check the protective measures at e-charging stations for EVSE systems – Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment. The EV-Test100, in combination with the HT Instruments MacroEVtest multifunction instrument, simulates an electric vehicle connected to the charging station, for verification of the EVSE functionality and electrical safety. It is able to test charging stations with charging modes 2 and 3 and Type 2 standard connector.
- This adapter has the following features:
- Use for EVSE stations with charging modes 2 and 3
- Test cable with Type 2 connectors (IEC 62196-2)
- Vehicle simulation via Control Pilot system (CP state)
- Cable current capacity simulation via Proximity Pilot system (PP state)•Fault PE simulation condition
- Fault condition simulation on the Control Pilot (Fault E)
- Efficiency check of internal station energy meter (LOAD section)
- LED indications for system phase detection
- Terminals for connection to HT tester
- Protection fuse on LOAD section
- Test in compliance with IEC/EN61851-1 and IEC/EN60364-7-722 guidelines
Vehicle Simulation:
State A: No vehicle connected
Condition B: Vehicle connected but not ready for charging
Condition C: Vehicle connected and ready for charging, ventilation of the charging area not required
Condition D: Vehicle connected and ready for charging, ventilation of the charging area required
State E: Error: Short circuit CP-PE via internal diode
Cable Simulation (PP):
The different coding for charging cables with 13A, 20A, 32A and 63A can be simulated. It is also possible to simulate the No Cable state. The different charging cables are simulated by switching different resistors between PP and PE using the rotary switch. According to IEC 61851, the following values are possible:
No cable: Infinite Ohm
13A cable: 1.5k Ohm
20A cable: 680 Ohm
32A cable: 220 Ohm
63A cable: 100 Ohm
MECHANICAL INTERLOCK
Thanks to the simulation of the vehicle’s status it is possible to verify that, starting from status B, the recharging column blocks the cable’s release.
* Only for charging stations equipped with an interlock system
SIMULATION OF FAULT PE AND CP
Through the knob it is possible to carry out in a sequence the simulation of the interruption of the protective conductor (Fault PE) and the simulation of an error on the CP signal (Fault E).
MONITORING OF PWM OUTPUT
Through the dedicated output and the provided C100EV cable it is possible to verify the recharging mode and the encoding of the recharging current through the acquisition of the PWM signal (pulse width modulation).
VERIFICATION OF CONTROL PILOT
Through PP knob, rated currents of charging cables can be simulated, up to 63A.
* Only for charging stations equipped with an interlock system
