The thinkRF H1000A’s versatile power options make it a perfect asset for use cases in homeland security, emergency communications, TSCM (non-linear junction detection) and rural communications. Hybrid-mode operation enables an uninterrupted power source when switching from vehicle power to battery power and back. Discrete Operation The thinkRF H1000A is the most compact stand-alone power amplifier in its class, making it ideal for fixed, vehicular and dismounted operations. With passive, fanless cooling, it is silent and reliable. The compact and light package is complemented with versatile power options (12V vehicle power or off-the-shelf V-mount batteries). As an option, the V-Mount battery plates can be removed for an even lighter unit or to incorporate custom mounting brackets. High Availability There are times when you have more important things to worry about than whether your power amplifier will be up for the job when you need it. Reliability was key from day one when designing the thinkRF H1000A. Fanless cooling avoids mechanical failures associated with other options. Power filtering, surge suppression and regulation protection ensure external power transients won’t affect operation. Further, the thinkRF H1000A is a smart amplifier that incorporates a microcontroller to monitor and report on the health of the unit. Prior to deployment, the user can verify that the unit is in top operating condition. The built-in microcontroller also provides a facility for transmit power control through gain adjustment. Seamless switching between 12V external power and batteries keeps the thinkRF H1000A running uninterrupted. Batteries running low? No problem – the two V-mount batteries can be hot swapped ensuring continuous operation. Remote Operation Through the Ethernet port, the thinkRF H1000A can be networked so that it can be operated and monitored remotely. The user can also remotely adjust the system gain and perform remote diagnostics on units that are deployed in the field. Ruggedness The thinkRF H1000A is designed to withstand operation in harsh conditions. An IP66 rated enclosure and connectors ensure rain and dust will not interfere with operation. Connectors are strong and secure; preventing accidental disconnection during an operation. Fanless, passive cooling also ensures the thinkRF H1000A is not vulnerable to outside elements or to failures due to shock and vibration. Communications The thinkRF H1000A employs a dual-band architecture (High/Low band) for antenna optimization and a dual TNC (frequency-banded) output ports to provide a complete coverage. You can cover mobile wireless frequency bands that occur between 715 MHz – 2.7 GHz without any changes in configuration. Versatility The thinkRF H1000A has 10 W operating power output and an adjustable gain up to 43 dB. It is designed to be used within a wider range of signal sources and a greater breath of operational scenarios than other power amplifiers with similar electrical performance.
