    The QianLi Thermal Imaging Camera is a diagnostic tool for PCBs which detects heat images to help identify damaged or malfunctioning components or short-circuits.  This can make circuit board repair diagnostics much quicker.  The device contains both an IR sensor and a visible light sensor to help see exactly where the problem is located.  The powerful PC software supplied uses intelligent algorithms to detect and highlight thermal anomalies on a wide area, problems such as overheating motherboard chips or short circuits, which are hard to detect by other means. By comparing normal and abnormal boards, it can quickly and accurately identify circuit board faults and rapidly troubleshoot defective PCBs. 

    Visual inspection is a premier tool in PCB debug activities, but the addition of thermal imaging is especially helpful in finding overheating issues.  Rather than using a thermocouple to find the temperature of a component, the QianLi displays all of the board temperatures at once.  The QianLi Thermal Microscope contains two imagers, one to see visible wavelengths and one to see infrared heat images.  These can be lined up on the PC image to quickly identify the offending components, which is better than working with just an unrealistic infrared image.  Searching for missing, incorrect or charred components, bad solder joints, and solder bridges is the first order of business when a bad board comes in for repair. This becomes so much easier with a powerful microscope such as the QianLi Thermal Imager, which even offers 800x digital zooming.  Looking for solder whiskers or bridges between pads or solder joints is especially challenging between the pins of fine-pitch SMD chips without significant magnification.  If the problem is a short, it may be plainly visible on the PC as an anomalous heat spot when power is briefly applied.

    Download and boot up the software, hookup the QianLiThermal Camera via an Ethernet connection to a PC, and the image appears immediately without requiring any software drivers.  Note that we have carefully rewritten the operator manual to make all functions of this equipment easy to use and understand.

    The QianLi Thermal Camera System is a quick PCB diagnostic tool offering a new generation of maintenance equipment.  It is the world's first dual-spectrum viewer with interleaved positioning. Through powerful intelligent PC analysis software using intelligent algorithms, it can detect and display circuit board operating temperatures. Using a normal/test board comparison analysis, it can quickly and accurately identify problem chips or short-circuits, which greatly speeds up problem detection, and improves operational efficiency and maintenance accuracy.  Finding short-circuits on a PCB is very difficult by other means.

    The QianLi Thermal Camera System is composed of three parts, the detection head with its infrared camera and a visible wavelength camera, an adjustable stand, and the powerful computer analysis software.  The detection head can display a visible light image, an infrared thermal image, or a visible/infrared superimposed image. This unique combination quickly shows the location of problem chips or short circuits by switching between both images – just touch the keyboard’s space bar.  In order to achieve the best observation distance for superimposing images accurately, the mounting bracket is adjustable to raise or lower the distance between the detection head and the PCB.

    The analysis software, using sophisticated calculation algorithms, can display the operating temperatures of individual components on the PCB board, annotated on the screen images.  The maximum value component temperature can be also correctly displayed.  Using a normal/test board comparison analysis you can find faults quickly!   The software can save images or video to preserve maintenance records, video evidence of faults, or to provide dated reference comparisons for future maintenance or reports.
