The GW Instek PLR 60-12 is a 720 watt Programmable Switching DC Power Supply that provide supply DC voltages up to 60V at 12A. Its hybrid circuit design uniquely features a switching front-end and final linear stage linear, thus combining the beneficial aspects of both architectures. The front-end switching design is employed to reduce the size & weight of the supply compared with a totally linear design, and the linear output block provides the features of low ripple voltage, low ripple current, and fast transient response to DUT load changes. And if situations occur that require additional voltage or current, then two units may be combined in series, or three in parallel to provide increased power. The PLR 60-12 offers programmable features like automatic voltage sequencing, an Output Off timer, and three user-defined parameter preset keys for conveniently recalling preferred voltage/current settings. Constant Voltage and Constant Current settings are available which can prevent overshoot and inrush current when the output is turned on or a DUT is connected. External control can adjust voltage and current and OVP, OCP and UVP settings. The PLR series is also ideal for integration in rack-mount applications (using the optional dedicated rack mount adapter GRA-427) because the heat dissipation design uses a front air in/rear air out design with no air outlet on the top, bottom, or either side. Other equipment may thus be directly placed on top or under to conserve rack space. The PLR Series Power Supplies are equipped standard with an RS-232 interface, but with optional GPIB & USB (PLR-GU) or USB & LAN (PLR-LU) also available. Up to 32 units can be remotely controlled with the software provided.
